DESIGN YOUR OWN EXPERIMENT - that could be done within the context of GCHS students/faculty
Identify: hypothesis, population, representative sample, IV, DV, operational definitions, experimental group, control group, stratified sampling, group matching, experimental design type, procedures
Explain:
1) How will you know if experiment is valid? Reliable?
2) How would you determine if there's a correlation between variables? What would it mean if your results showed a negative correlation? Positive correlation? No correlation?
3) How would you avoid/counteract the following things?
-Observer effect/bias
-Courtesy bias
-Placebo effect
-Experimenter effect
4) What specific ethical considerations must you keep in mind with the planning/executing of this experiment?
